Ever feel like you are just touching the surface or being distracted by what you see, that you aren’t getting the full picture?
Sometimes, it feels like many things get loud so it gets your attention.
Perhaps your attention was needed there.
But it may not be fully representing the picture of what is happening and evolving.
For me, this has been about body stuff.
Short story first.
For a long time, I ignored my body.
As much as a person can ignore the vehicle they are navigating life in.
Little niggles or awarenesses would be denied so I could travel along my merry way.
For a long time, I ignored my body even as I hated and disliked it.
I poured my focus in my children, my husband and everything external happening around me.
I chose myself last.
It wasn’t really a conscious decision but deep programmings were running the story.
The story being put everyone else first, deny your feelings, emotions squashed down and keep small.
Don’t ask for too much or you will be disappointed.
Push until there is nothing left to give and then push harder.
Wasn’t until my body pushed back and screamed at me to be heard, that I started learning how to listen.
And that is another story for another day.
The point of this is, when you are practically forced to change the trajectory of your life and follow new paths, your focus can get very narrow.
Until everything seems to reflect and draw your energy to one area of life.
Not that you can really separate life into areas, but we try.
The focus when it shifts to health can become all involving, until everything is filtered through one awareness:
Is this food good for me? How will my body react? Am I doing this right? Am I doing this wrong? Do I need more research? Information? Listen to more people and not myself?
Symptoms can seem loud and the more focus you have on it, the more it can play on your mind.
What if a choice could be to relax, slow down and focus on what is going right and feels good within the body and around you?
It’s not about denying what might feel true for you, in this moment?
It can also open a path to new experiences and possibilities.
We can still listen to our body and experience what is AND choose to focus on relaxing more and allowing life to flow through you.
What if part of your story was to have intense experiences and learn to let go? To not hold onto those stories so tightly?
To flow more and balance as we integrate the lessons of our lives.
