Conversations with the Body

When was the last time your spoke to your body?

I mean, consciously, with care and from a space of calm.

Conversing with your body can be a powerful practice and you may be surprised at what your body has been waiting to bring more fully into your awareness.

You can start with gentle questions, coming from a place of curiousity.

Some questions can be a getting to know you kind of vibe.

Others can be about specific things that are occurring that you would like clarity on.

These conversations can be written or you can speak in your mind and feel into what the responses may be.

When I was first doing these, I would write, as it helped to clarify to myself, what questions or dialogue I wanted to speak into.

It’s changed a little since then.

In a quiet space, I find being in nature helps, drawing my attention inwards and listening.

Holding a question or query and waiting for the body to respond.

It won’t likely be in words, as the body tends to show us in other ways.

But your mind may translate the meaning or gist of what is shared.

You can do this when you have pains or symptoms, to find out more, to learn what is going beneath the surface.

Or it can be from that place of curiosity and seeing what messages your body has been gate keeping.

For the body is the vessel of our soul and we have access to all that is available, including the spirit and unseen realms.

Messages that your body can translate and bring through, if we are open and receptive to it.

So, the next time you have a random thought pop in, or a sudden ache in your body, maybe it’s worth asking a few questions.
